* mandatory fields

Details

Application Areas:

Joiners/ carpenters/ floor layers

Terrace construction, gardening and landscaping

Visible screwing of terrace panels to wooden substructure, claddings/panellings, etc.

Application in humid atmospheres and outdoors in ambient conditions with very low salt and acid content (also low tannins)

Advantages:

  • Rust resistant and hard screw-application ability
    • Martensitic stainless steel prevents rust lanes on wood and enables 60% higher breaking torque compared to stainless steel A2 screws
  • Subtle and elegant surface finish
    • Small black coated 60° ornamental head with milling ribs ensures tear-free countersinking and a harmoniously colored surface on dark woods
  • Fast and energy-saving
    • Notch tip enables quick grip in wood and prevents splitting of floorboards
    • Tip-starting thread provides rapid insertion of screw
    • Milling ribs at shaft decrease torque resistance up to 25%

Processing information

Distance between planks: min. 5-7 mm (depending on swelling of wood type)
In hardwood, pre-drilling of deck board is generally recommended
Recommended pre-drilling-Ø: 0.6 - 0.8 x thread-Ø
Edge distances
Long edge: min. 20 mm and max. 50 mm
Short edge/hemline: min. 50 mm and max. 100 mm
Pre-countersinking recommended after pre-drilling. Suitable countersunk head to be used. Not too deep pre-countersinking of decking. Pre-countersinking prevents splintering and thus reduces risk of injuries, reduces water absorption, ensures flush finish
For wood with high tannic acid content (e. g. acacia, oak, larch, cedar, etc.), A4 stainless steel screws are to be used to prevent corrosion
Each crossing point (substructure with decking board) should be fastened with 2 screws
Calculation formula for number of crossing points and required screws: Length of substructure [m] / width of decking [m]
(Example: 20 m : 0.145 m = 138 crossing points x 2 screws per crossing pt. = 276 screws)
Distance between screw pairs (crossing points): max. 50 cm

Advice

For highest possible durability of constructions with martensitic screws, protection against direct weathering (e.g. covered pergola) is recommended

Productadvisor for Houtschroeven

Verschillende toepassingsgebieden vereisen verschillende schroef- en draageigenschappen van een schroef. Opmerking: Voorboren wordt met name aanbevolen voor schroeven die zeer dicht bij de rand komen of om het risico op splijten te verminderen.
