Details

Application Areas:

BERNER Flextight can be used, next to a standard sealant, also to create an airtight and vapor retardant finishing of:
Penetration seals
Seams, gaps, cracks and holes
Wall-floor connections
Wall-wall connections
Window connections

Suitable surfaces:
All common porous surfaces
All materials used by window manufacturers, such as PVC, aluminium and wood
On window tapes
Almost all EPDM and bitumen

Advantages:

  • Multifunctional
    • Useable for all kind of purposes and surfaces and useable as a standard sealant, as well as for creating an airtight and vapor retardant finishing
  • User friendlier compared to traditional solutions
    • It stays elastic and can be painted, plastered, taped, etc. after drying
    • Next to that it is easier to use compared to traditional surfaces, it has a long shelf life, no smell, it needs no pretreatment and gaps till 5 mm can easily be filled
  • Useable under all kind of circumstances
    • Adhesion on dusty and moist substrates, so useable in construction and renovation

Processing information

Stir well before use
BERNER Flextight is applied directly from the packaging onto the surface using a flat brush
Spread it onto the surface and apply the paste undiluted and evenly in at least 2 layers of minimum 1 mm (and max 3 mm) on the substrate
For the best possible coverage, apply Flextight the second time under a different angle. We recommend to apply the 2nd layer only after skin formation occurs at the first layer
The application thickness must be measured (wet) by using a wet film comb
For window applications, ensure that the Flextight forms a seamless membrane of at least 3 mm on the window frame, over the flexible foam to +/- 5 cm on the reveal area of the structural work

Advice

Not suitable for glass, PE, PP and PTFE
We strongly recommend to use the BERNER Flextight at room temperature, otherwise the processing properties may be affected
Do not dilute with water or solvents
Do not use in applications where continuous water immersion is possible
The use of masking tape (on the window frame) is recommended. This should however be removed shortly after the application of Flextight, before curing
For wall to floor connections, apply Flextight sufficiently high (above the water barrier) to guarantee an overlap with the plaster
For other connections, ensure that Flextight forms a seamless membrane over the joint with a minimum width of 3 cm. on both sides of the joint
Before curing, Flextight can be removed from substrates and tools with water
Flextight can be repaired without any issues with the same material
Limited UV-resistant
Needed to avoid infiltration of dirt into the bucket. A new or good cleaned brush is recommended to avoid any issues in sticking to the surface
