Processing information
Consumption:
200 g/m² per layer
The quantity is based on practical application by rolling with a roller on a smooth surface under optimal conditions. Factors such as surface porosity, temperature, humidity, application method, processing can change the consumption quantities
Surface Preparation:
Thorough preparation of the surface is essential for an optimum result and a long lifespan
The surface must be dry and free of dust and grease
All loose parts must be carefully removed with a grinder
Old, loose coatings, greases, oils or organic substances must be removed
Smoothen possible surface irregularities, remove loose parts and (grinding) dust
Application:
For best results, the temperature during application and cure should be between 5°C and 35°C. Low temperature delays curing, while high temperature speeds up curing
BERNERseal FS Porous Primer can be applied by roller, brush or airless gun
High humidity can visually influence the surface of the coating
When applying BERNERseal FS Porous Primer, it is recommended to avoid puddles, otherwise air bubbles may form
After 1-3 hrs (not later than 4 hrs. / The surface should still be slightly tacky) apply the BERNERseal FS Sealant
Note: For highly absorbent substrates (e.g. lightweight concrete, certain cement mortars), it is recommended to apply two layers of BERNERseal FS Porous Primer (observe the drying time of the first layer), in order to close the porosity and thus reduce the formation of bubbles in the next layer
CAUTION: The BERNERseal FS system is not set to be slip resistant. In order to prevent accidents, please inform yourself in detail if it's possible to make the coatings on site slip-resistant!
Advice
Do not wash the surface with water
Metal ball blaster can damage the concrete surface. This can have a negative influence on the adhesion
The BERNERseal FS system is not set to be anti-slip
The compressive strength of the substrate should be at least 25 MPa, the adhesion at least 1.5 MPa
The substrate moisture should be max. 5%
New concrete structures must dry for at least 28 days
Due to the large number of different materials, deviations are always possible, therefore we cannot guarantee the accuracy of our information in all cases
Considering the different object requirements and the most varied conditions, the user should always check the suitability for the given purpose
We therefore recommend that you always carry out your own adhesion tests before coating
