Processing information
Consumption:
120 - 250 g/m2 applied in one or two layers in a cross pattern
The quantity is based on practical application by rolling with a roller on a smooth surface under optimal conditions. Factors such as surface porosity, temperature, humidity, application method, processing can change the consumption quantities
Surface Preparation:
Careful surface preparation is essential for optimum results and a long lifespan
The surface must be dry and free of dust and grease
All loose parts must be carefully removed
Old, loose coatings, dirt, grease, oil, organic substances and dust must be removed with a grinder
Smooth out possible surface irregularities and thoroughly remove loose parts and remove sanding dust thoroughly
Application:
Always stir the cans well before applying the BERNERseal FS Topcoat with a roller, brush or airless gun in a cross pattern
Let the first layer cure for 3-6 hours before applying the second layer, but do not wait longer than 36 hours
For best results, the temperature during application and curing should be between 5°C and 35°C
Low temperatures delay curing, while high temperatures accelerate curing too much
High humidity can visually affect the surface
Advice
The compressive strength of the substrate should be at least 25 MPa, the adhesion at least 1.5 MPa
The substrate moisture should be max. 5%
New concrete structures must dry for at least 28 days
The BERNERseal FS system is not set to be slip resistant
In order to prevent accidents, please inform yourself in detail if it's possible to make the coatings on site slip-resistant!
